The world’s top rated player, Magnus Carlsen, will challenge the world over  the Internet on September 10, 2010 from Manhattan. You can join the excitement by registering here for more information.

Don’t worry you will have help. Hikaru Nakamura, the top American player, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, the top French player, and Judit Polgar of Hungary, the world’s best woman player, will suggest moves during the game and people on the Internet will vote on the selections.

Sponsored by G-Star RAW, a dutch clothing company, the RAW world chess challenge is giving Magnus a chance to prove that really is the world’s best chess player at the tender age of 19.

But if he loses, never fear, Magnus has started a second career as a fashion model! Check out Magnus as he models the latest fashions. Want to see Magnus is fashion action. Norway’s public broadcasting company, NRK, has a short clip with actress Liv Tyler. Chess does have its benefits.

Here is a short video promotion for the RAW world chess challenge. Guess what chess set they are playing on. You bet, ChessCentral’s Centurion chess set with the matching green vinyl board.
